Martin Shaw is a mythographer and Christian mystic who works with ancient wisdom for modern people. Visiting scholar at the Faculty of Divinity at Cambridge University and author of many books, Shaw leads the Westcountry School of Myth and founded Stanford's Oral Tradition & Mythic Life courses.
Dr. Shaw spent four years living in a black tent on a series of English hills—fasting, vision-seeking, and studying wilderness rites of passage. Converting to Eastern Orthodoxy after a 101-day forest vigil, Shaw’s teaching is an extraordinary tapestry of myth and mystical Christian tradition.
